Find Out Where Your Money is Going

Have you ever wondered where your money is going?   We know that the state of California is in debt and facing a financial and budget crisis, also interesting is that most people in Southern California are in debt and are spending more money than what they make.

When facing a financial crisis, fear and stress will paralyze you from making good decisions. It is important to cut back your spending immediately.

Don’t wait for the next big deal. Get a game plan together by reviewing your budget and not spending money recklessly.  Communicate with your spouse and don’t be in denial. Be pro-active, not inactive.

For the next 30 days, track every nickel, dime and penny you spend on groceries, coffee, fast food, essential bills, and all the other odds and ends around town.  Place these entries in a journal and break it into categories.

At the end of the 30 days, total each column.  This is where you will see the areas you can cut back.  Once you cut back, move your savings to your budget.

This money journal will be a wake up call.  You can get started with our financial budget worksheet today.

Are Bills Causing Sleepless Nights?

You’ve tossed and turned all night. It wasn’t Santa’s reindeer flashing through your head.  It was credit card bills, utility bills, mortgages or rent, collection agencies and other bill collectors chasing you.  You wake up with your heart pounding and continue to lie in bed staring at the ceiling wondering what you can do.

It’s time for you to call for help from a California credit expert that can analyze your financial situation.  If you live in north Orange County including the cities of Brea, Fullerton, Placentia, Anaheim, Yorba Linda, Buena Park, or any nearby city, a credit expert is right around the corner.

One of the first things you need to do to get a game plan is to review your budget and to know what bills need to be paid first.

Prioritizing your bills is a start.  Bills should be set up in two categories.

Category one is your Survival Bills.  These are bills that you must pay to protect your home and family’s well being and would include:

  • Mortgage/rent
  • Food
  • Utility bills
  • Car payment
  • Secured loans
  • Child Support
  • Insurance for auto and health

Category two are bills that you must pay after all the bills from category one are paid, only with the money you have left over.  They would include:

  • Credit cards
  • Department store and oil charge cards.
  • Unsecured loans
  • Medical bills
  • Accounting fees
  • Miscellaneous

When reviewing your list you need to determine from your personal budget what your essential, survival bills are. Californians have a lot of bills, and we need to do a better job of economizing and budgeting. Your sleepless nights will get better once you have talked with a qualified financial coach and credit expert in Southern California and gotten your game plan together.

Money Secrets that Hurt

How many of you have money secrets from your spouse, friends or family?  If you live in California, you are probably feeling the reality of the harsh economy taking a toll on your finances. Probably most of you have secrets because your finances may not be as good as you want it to appear to others.  You may have even come to believe your little money secrets as truth when in reality they are not.

It’s no secret that the majority of Californians live above their means. Times are tough, and it doesn’t help that so many people have lost their jobs, are upside down in their home mortgages, and are experiencing debt more than ever before.  California needs financial help and debt relief.

Here are examples of some money secrets that may come back to bite you.

  1. If you are married and in charge of paying the bills in your household it is easy to hide things from your spouse. If money problems are lurking and you are trying to protect your spouse from feeling stress because there is a money shortage each month, don’t do it.  This type of money secret is not helpful.  Two heads are better than one when trying to solve money problems.  Don’t blindside your spouse with this type of secret.  It might benefit you to seek the help and assistance from a California credit expert to help counsel you with your budget and current situation.  You can find nationwide and California financial and credit counselors by visiting www.financialvictory.com.
  2. If you are single, it may be difficult for you because you don’t have accountability from a spouse.  You need to have a friend, family or credit expert to help you get on track.
  3. By not keeping track of what you are spending each month will cause you to dig a deeper financial hole.  Your money secret will become a trap that will eventually bury you.
  4. Not knowing what your credit report says can cause you grief when trying to apply for credit.  Keeping your head in the sand by not reviewing your credit report annually can cause you distress if there are errors, especially if you are in the market for a major purchase.  If you can’t understand the report and don’t know what to do, get credit report help by contacting a credit expert to help you.
  5. Don’t be ashamed to seek outside assistance from a credit expert.  More and more people are opting for help with their credit from credit experts they can trust.
